CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- After seeing the penguins at the Shedd Aquarium take a field trip around the aquarium and experience what it is like to be on the other side of the glass, SUE the T. Rex at the Field Museum wanted their turn.
Now while we all know the skeleton of SUE cannot physically move around and explore, we are sure SUE was there in spirit with whoever was in the costume.
This action follows the Shedd Aquarium taking their penguins out to explore.
The Field Museum announced they are temporarily closed to the public until March 29.
"As a scientific institution, we are committed to following the recommendations of public health authorities. While we rely on revenue from our public museum to sustain our mission, we can only be leaders in discovery and education if we keep our community healthy. It is of utmost importance that we provide a safe environment for the guests who visit our museum, the people who work in our halls, the donors who keep us running, and other members of our community who we come in contact with every day," the museum said in a statement.
"The Field Museum is closed March 14–29. We sincerely apologize for this disruption of your plans. The health and well-being of our museum community, including our visitors, comes first, and we look forward to the day when we can safely welcome you back to the Field."
