1 dead, 1 hospitalized after motorcycle collides with car Sunday afternoon in Lenawee County

LENAWEE COUNTY (WWJ) -- The driver of a motorcycle who was involved in a collision with a car over the weekend in Lenawee County has died.

According to investigators, 54-year-old Joseph Webb was driving a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on West Carleton Road near Benner Highway around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday with his wife as a passenger.

A woman driving a Toyota Corolla then attempted to turn onto Benner, and Webb was unable to stop, crashing into the car.

Webb and his 50-year-old wife were seriously hurt in the crash and taken to Hickman Hospital in Adrian, where Webb later succumbed to his injuries. His wife remains hospitalized.

The driver of the car has been identified at 87-year-old Marilyn Elizabeth Hanson.

The investigation by Lenawee County Sheriff's Office continues.
