DETROIT (WWJ) -- One woman is dead and two others have been hospitalized after being pulled from the Detroit River in the early hours of Friday morning, according to Detroit Police.
Authorities were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. on reports that three women were in the water near Alfred Brush Ford Park located near Jefferson Chalmers on the city’s east side.
Authorities say one woman apparently fell into the water and the other two jumped in to help her, though it remains unclear why the women were at the park overnight.
The conditions of the two surviving women are currently unknown, and police have the entrance to the park blocked off, WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports.
