Pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run crash at Dearborn bus stop, police seeking help to find suspect driver

DEARBORN (WWJ) - A 58-year-old victim remains hospitalized with severe injuries on Friday morning after they were were involved in a hit and run crash while at bus stop in Dearborn the day before.

Now the Dearborn Police Department is asking for help in finding the person responsible.


According to authorities, the crash happened at a southbound Greenfield bus stop, just south of Ford Road, between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 15th.

The unknown vehicle struck the victim, only identified as a 58-year-old, causing severe injuries. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.

The unknown vehicle, which is believed to have front-end damage from the crash, took off from the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but are asking for assistance from the public to help find the suspect vehicle and the driver.

"I am asking anyone with information to please come forward and assist us with this investigation," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said in a prepared statement. "It is important that we gather all the facts to determine how the collision occurred that night."
