WOODHAVEN (WWJ) -- Authorities are trying to find a group of thieves who stole ten high-end Ford Raptor pickup trucks from a Downriver lot, early Wednesday morning.
It happened on the property of the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant, at around 2 a.m., WWJ's Charlie Langton reports.
According to Woodhaven Police, the suspects used a stolen Kia from Inkster to crash through the fence on Vreeland Rd., near I-75, and then stole the trucks — which cost about $90,000 each.
Detectives don't have a lot to go on a this point, as the security guard on site said she couldn't see the suspects, and isn't able to describe them.
One of the stolen trucks apparently ran out of gas and was found abandoned along I-75 near Northline Rd., Michigan State Police said. Another was found along I-75 near Gibraltar Rd. The other eight are still missing.
MSP and Flat Rock Police are assisting Woodhaven Police, as the investigation continues.
Police said they are also working with Ford to gather more information.
