SOUTHGATE (WWJ) – Southgate police are thanking the public for helping them find an 11-year-old girl who went missing Monday morning.
The girl's name was not released, but police officials say she walked away from the area of Reeck Road and Walnut Street in Southgate – near I-75 and Northline Road – around 9:15 a.m.
Shortly after 4 p.m. police officials said the girl had been found and was returned safely to her family. It was not clear where she was found.
No other details surrounding the girl's disappearance were released.
"Thank you for all of your shares and assistance," the police department said in a Facebook post.
