12-year-old girl taken to hospital, found floating in pool at Taylor apartments

TAYLOR (WWJ) -- A 12-year-old girl is said to be in critical condition after she was found in a pool at a Downriver apartment complex.

According to a spokesperson for the City of Taylor, this happened on Monday at the at the Pickwick Apartments, near Wick and Pelham roads in Taylor. This complex is also known as the Heritage Glen Townhomes.


A call came into 911 dispatchers about a girl who was found floating facedown in the pool, the spokesman said.

The Taylor Fire Department responded, found the 12-year-old girl unresponsive, and attempted to resuscitate her.

She was taken to a hospital where police said she remained in critical condition, as of early Monday evening.

It's unclear at this time what up to this incident, as the investigation is ongoing.

The child's name was not immediately released.
