BRIDGMAN, Mich. (WWJ) -- A 12-year-old girl was killed when the motorcycle she was riding on with her father was hit by a semi-truck.
According to Michigan State Police, the Kalamazoo man and his daughter were on westbound I-94 in Bridgman, which is south of St. Joseph along Lake Michigan, Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the girl was ejected from the motorcycle after it was hit by a semi-truck. The child was then hit by the truck.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Both the girl and her father were wearing helmets, police said.
It's still not clear who was at fault for the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time investigators police said they don't believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
No names have been released.
