SOUTHGATE (WWJ) -- Police in Southgate have confirmed an unresponsive boy pulled from the Holiday Inn swimming pool in the city on Saturday has died.
Chance Coy, 13, was a freshman at Summit Academy North High School.
Officials there shared the news with students and parents via email as word of his passing spread on social media.
Police say the teen was with friends at the hotel for a party when the incident occurred.
A man pulled him from the pool and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Coy had been on life support.
