DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 14-year-old Detroit boy is on the run after he allegedly shot and killed a man outside a house following a heated argument that turned violent.
WWJ's Charlie Langton was on the scene Monday morning, at a home on Cheyenne St., near West Chicago and Schaefer, where the fatal altercation occurred just after 3 a.m.
Detroit police say the teen was a friend and guest who got into an argument with a 46-year-old man at the house. The confrontation escalated, and the suspect supposedly stole a firearm from someone in the home, then shot the older man outside the residence.
Though paramedics attempted to keep the victim alive, the gunshot ultimately proved fatal, and the man died at a local hospital.
After the shooting, the teenager ran off and has not yet been found.
Officials say they have a detailed description of the suspect and several leads on where he may have gone.
