DETROIT (WWJ) – Authorities are renewing pleas for tips in the case of a 14-year-old boy who was shot and killed on Detroit's northwest side nearly a year ago.
The teen was shot around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19 in the area of Ferguson Street and 7 Mile Road.
The victim then ran one block over to Biltmore Street and collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detroit police officials on Wednesday said a $1,000 cash reward is being offered through Detroit Rewards TV for anyone who can provide tips that lead to an arrest.
While a possible motive in the shooting remains unclear, police officials said Wednesday an unknown suspect fired shots from a dark colored Jeep Cherokee in an alley before fleeing down the alley and then south on Asbury Park.
Anyone who knows something about the shooting can submit an anonymous tip at https://detroitrewards.tv.
