(WWJ) — A Clinton Township teenager is the first suspect to be charged in connection with the shooting death of Oakland County Sheriff's deputy Brad Reckling.

Karim Blake More, 18, was arraigned Wednesday on multiple charges, one of three teens taken into custody after what Sheriff Mike Bouchard described as "an ambush" on Detroit's east side Saturday night.

Moore has been charged with three counts of lying to police during a violent crime investigation and one count of resisting arrest.

He was not charged directly with Reckling's killing. Moore is being held on $100,000 bond.

Authorities have not released any details about the other two suspects, who remain in custody as the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office reviews possible charges.

Moore was allegedly in an SUV that had been stolen from Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights sometime Saturday afternoon. Later that night Reckling and two other deputies with the auto theft unit were led to Detroit's east side while investigating, according to the sheriff's office.

Reckling, in an unmarked car, was the first to come across the stolen Chevy Equinox. At some point near Gratiot and McNichols the suspects stopped, got out and opened fire, hitting Reckling in the head, chest and torso, officials said.

The suspects ran from police but were later tracked down and arrested.

In the wake of Reckling's death, the community has stepped up in numerous ways to help the deputy's family. The sheriff's office has set up donations through Mission Oakland, while a GoFundMe page has also been organized to support the family.

Eddie Osman, the owner of Wixom Food & More Marathon, is donating 25¢ for every gallon of gasoline sold at the station on Wednesday and Thursday.

A vigil was held for Reckling Wednesday night in Romeo. His funeral will be held Friday in Auburn Hills.
