18-year-old man fatally shot during family dispute in Flint

FLINT (WWJ) A family dispute led to a fatal shooting in Flint, State Police said.

In a statement on X, Michigan State Police said the Flint Major Case Detectives are investigating a shooting that happened Friday (7/12) around 9:15 p.m. on Mallery (2900 block) at N. Ballenger Highway.

The victim, 18, got into an argument with the suspect in the driveway—and the suspect shot him; according to State Police.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

State Police said the suspect, 54, was a relative of the victim, but did not specify how the two men are related.

The suspect is being housed at the Genesee County Jail.
