HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - A deadly shooting in Highland Park has claimed the life of a young man after police say he sustained several gunshot wounds while sitting in a car outside an apartment building on Monday evening.
Now, authorities are turning to the public for help in investigating the incident.
Officials from Michigan State Police said troopers responded to reports of shots fired shortly after 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Gabrielle Apartments and Townhomes in the 14000 block of Second Street.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers were able to locate the victim, an 18-year-old man, near the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, MSP said.
According to a preliminary investigation spearheaded by the Second District Special Investigation Section, the victim was sitting inside a car when two unknown males approached and fired multiple shots at the victim.
At this time, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident, but police are continuing their investigation.
