
JACKSON COUNTY (WWJ) - Jackson County deputies called out to a UPS center ended up stumbling across two thieves in the act of cutting parts from delivery trucks over the weekend, authorities said.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were performing a security check at the UPS Customer Center located on Dunigan Drive, just south of Jackson, around 11:49 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 when they happened on an active crime scene.
Cpt. Kevin Hiller said deputies found a pair of men in the process of cutting catalytic converters off UPS delivery trucks.
The male suspects, identified only as a 28-year-old and 41-year-old both from Jackson, were arrested at the scene.
Hiller said deputies searched their vehicle and discovered six other catalytic converters that were stripped from other vehicles.
The pair now face charges of larceny of motor vehicle parts, possession of burglary tools and malicious destruction of property.
