Another box truck that was heading east on I-94 struck the overturned truck, Michigan State Police said.
Authorities say the crash caused both trucks to catch fire, resulting in both drivers dying.
Police have not released the names or ages of either driver.
MSP is still investigating what caused the first truck to overturn.
The freeway was closed in the area for nearly nine hours on Sunday morning, reopening just before noon.
