SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police are on the hunt for a suspect that they say shot and injured two people as they were driving in Southfield on Thursday night.
The Southfield Police Department said the incident was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 1 and officers responded to the area off of Ten Mile and Greenfield. When they arrived on scene, the found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to a preliminary investigation, police determined the pair was traveling eastbound on Ten Mile in a vehicle when someone open fired on them. The male, a resident of Dearborn Heights, was hit in the right arm and lower left thigh while the woman, a resident of Detroit, was hit in the left leg.
Both victims were taken to the hospital by authorities. Their injuries were described by police as non life-threatening and both are expected to recover.
Police said one of the victims knew the suspected gunman, but investigators are still working on the case. Additional information about the suspect was not released as of 7 a.m. Friday.
