2 killed, 1 injured in crash at east side Detroit liquor store

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Two people are dead after a car crash involving two vehicles at a liquor store on Detroit's east side.

According to a spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department, the deadly crash happened early Monday morning in the parking lot of the Prince Liquor Store, in the area of Gratiot Ave. and Harper.

Police said the crash involved in SUV and another car; one which was headed northbound on Gratiot and the other southbound. At some point the two vehicles collided, and one of them was left was pinned against the liquor store building.

The spokesman was able to confirm that two people were killed in the crash, and that a third person was injured. The injured person was last reported to be in temporary serious condition at an area hospital.

Detroit police are investigating the circumstances around the crash.

No information was immediately released about the people who died.
