GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A 23-month-old boy was struck by a SUV and killed in Grand Blanc Township, police said.
Grand Blanc Township Police said the child was struck at a "low rate of speed" on Friday, October 10, around 6:30 p.m., in the driveway of a home on East Rowland near Fenton Road and Maple Avenue.
Officers responded to a report of someone struck by a vehicle. When they arrived, they found the toddler and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities said their investigation revealed a 24-year-old woman in a Ford Escape did not notice the toddler in the parking area before she hit him. No information was released on her relationship to the child, if any.
It's unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors. The investigation remains ongoing.
