REDFORD TWP (WWJ) A crash on the Southfield Freeway in Wayne County left a River Rouge man dead, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).
MSP said the crash happened near Schoolcraft-- in Redford Township-- on Friday, October 17 at 9:40 p.m. According to authorities, the Detroit Regional Communication Center received calls of a traffic crash blocking the left lane. When they arrived, they found a single car in the left lane with the driver trapped inside.
He had no pulse and was not breathing, according to MSP.
Troopers removed the 28-year-old man from the car and began to administer first aid, including an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and CPR.
Superior Ambulance took over attempts at life-saving treatment at the scene. They rushed him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, MSP said.
His name was not released.
MSP did not give any further details about the circumstances leading up to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
