STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Macomb County Thursday morning.
According to police, a 29-year-old Detroit man was hit by a vehicle at around 4:15 a.m. as he tried to cross Mound Rd., north of 17 Mile Rd., in Sterling Heights.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved, a 21-year-old man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police said that this does not appear to be a case of impaired driving.
Southbound Mound was closed between 18 Mile and 17 Mile for the investigation, but has since reopened.
