DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are searching for three men who disappeared 10 days ago after an event they were supposed to attend in Detroit was canceled -- and none of them have been seen or heard from since.
Armani Kelly, 38, Montoya Givens, 31, and Dante Wicker, 31, are all rappers who were scheduled to preform at a Lounge 31, a club in the 7 Mile and Gratiot area in Detroit, on Jan. 21, Commander Michael McGinnis said in a press conference.
It appears Kelly picked up Givens and Wicker on the way to the event, but police believe the men were told the party was canceled. McGinnis said a family member believes the trio made it to the club, but the department is still investigating.
According to police, Kelly's mother called authorities and reported her son missing on Jan. 23. A few days later on Jan. 27, Givens and Walker's family came forward after seeing a news report on Kelly's disappearance and realized the all three men who were acquainted with one another hadn't been seen or heard from.
Police said phone records for all three men ended late Jan. 21 or early Jan. 22.
The vehicle was parked backwards in carport spot #36 within the complex, police said -- the license plate area was covered in mud and the plate was missing.
Kelly is native of Oscoda in Northern Michigan. Givens and Wicker are from Detroit and Mevindale. Investigative efforts are being spearheaded by departments from the three cities, police said.
"They have no answers. They don’t know where their loved one is," McGinnis added,
According to the department, Givens, who goes by his stage name Jugg, is a 31-year-old Black male standing about 6'2" to 6'4" tall with an unknown weight. He has dark brown eyes and a black, short afro.
He has tattoos on both forearms.
Givens was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white print on the back, gray and white shoes, dark blue jeans, and black and blue boxers.
Anyone with any information about Givens, Kelly or Wicker has been asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 6th Precinct at (313) 596-2260 or call 911.
