CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) — A new three-story go-kart track is set to open at C.J. Barrymore’s in Clinton Township next month.

Indy SkyTrack, featuring a 30-foot-tall vortex, will open on May 3 as the newest attraction at the indoor-outdoor family entertainment center on Hall Road.

Construction on the towering go-kart track began last September and was completed over the winter on top of an existing track. It’s part of a $3 million investment at C.J. Barrymore’s.

“The expansion has been in the works for some time and comes as we are celebrating 50 Years of Entertainment this year,” said C.J. Barrymore’s Vice President David Dalpizzol. “The hype began way back in September when we first began construction.”

Before the park opens for the season on May 3, 50 lucky winners will get the chance to ride the Indy SkyTrack after an online contest got “an overwhelming number of entries,” Dalpizzol said.

Winners of the contest will be contacted after April 5.

Drivers will ascend to the top of the 30-foot structure, then plunge down the spiral quickly, reaching top speeds of around 20 mph.

Each ride will cost about $14 and last about 5-7 minutes

C.J. Barrymore’s, celebrating its 50th year, has a wide variety of attractions and activities. Outdoor attractions include three go-kart tracks, drop towers, bumper boats, Saddle Sling and a ferris wheel. Indoor activities include bowling, an arcade, laser tag and more.
