(WWJ) -- The start of a major construction project along I-275 is getting closer.
Groundbreaking on the 24 mile-long construction zone is slated to begin in late June or early July, and run from 6 Mile Road in Livonia all the way to the Monroe County line on Will Carleton Road in Ash Township.
Michigan Department of Transportation’s Diane Cross told WWJ that it’s one of the state’s biggest road projects to date, with an estimated cost of $257 million.
Areas that will be most affected during the four-year construction project will include parts of Canton, Plymouth, Romulus, Huron Township and Van Buren Township.
Drivers, residents and business owners that will be impacted by the construction are encouraged to log onto a virtual public meeting, which is being held by MDOT tonight from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Information on how to attend that meeting, and other important details about the I-275 construction project, can be found at Revive275.org
