(WWJ) A water main break along 14 Mile road, near Drake, has led to a Boil Water Advisory for residents in the city of Novi.
Novi's city manager, Victor Cardenas, said the break was in a 48 inch transmission line.
An alert sent to residents at 6:40 a.m. Saturday said WATER MAIN BREAK IN THE AREA OF 14 MILE AND DRAKE AFFECTING THE CITY OF NOVI. BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN PLACE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

People in West Bloomfield are also experiencing water issues. The township sent an alert to residents shortly after 5 a.m. that said: West Bloomfield Police and West Bloomfield Water department are aware of the water issues throughout the township.
The township followed up with an alert that said there was flooding near 14 MIle and Drake roads. The message said people should avoid the area.
A spokesman for the Great Lakes Water Authority said its response team was meeting Saturday morning and would have more details later in the day.
The break happened approximately five months after a 42-inch transmission like broke along 14 Mile Road near M-5 last September. That break impacted residents in Commerce Township, Walled Lake, Wixom and parts of Novi.
