1. Chilly Fest

Chilly Fest is back -- the most fun winter backyard "chili" party in a cool neighborhood! Bundle up and head out this weekend to stroll Downtown Port Huron while enjoying outdoor activities such as ice sculptures, a s'more station, carriage rides, chili competition, kids zone and much more! Sign up your team to compete in the brand-new Penguin Race, join the outdoor cornhole tournament, list your recipe for the chili cook-off competition and more!

2. Winter Artisan Market

The Winter Artisan Market will return to Plymouth this weekend for a fun day of shopping to brighten this gloomy winter month! Mark your calendars for Sunday, Feb. 9 — the perfect day to get out of the house and shop with handcrafted makers, local boutiques, foodies and more. Find the perfect Valentine’s Day decor and some unique gifts for that special person in your life! Stay warm, bring your friends, and enjoy free entry while supporting local businesses.

Sunday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the VFW Mayflower in Plymouth

3. Self-Care Sundays at Valade Park

Make time for your physical and mental health this winter at Valade Park with free classes on Sundays in February. Self-Care Sundays is a part of Winter at Valade and will feature a rotating schedule of classes of Polar Power Walks and Self-Care Sunday strolls. This Sunday is a Polar Power Walk with Urban Solace, which will combine movement with light strengthening and stretching activities along the Detroit Riverwalk. You'll be guided through a riverfront walk with stops for fitness breaks along the way. Even with the chilly weather, it's a great time to get outside for some winter wellness on the weekends!

4. Birding at Belle Isle 

It’s time for Birding at Belle Isle! Bird watchers will meet this Sunday at a location on Belle Isle that may vary according to where the birds are. The exact location will be shared upon registration. Please note that some programs will include a caravan to multiple locations for the best viewing opportunities. A limited number of binoculars are available for loan. All skill levels welcome! This is an outdoor event held rain or shine; please dress for the weather.

5. Stepper’s Ball at the DIA

Ring in Black History Month with this fun celebration at the Detroit Institute of Arts! The Stepper’s Ball is set for Friday, Feb. 7 and will feature Beginner Steppin' lessons with Sherry Gordon from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. and open dancing from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This event welcomes dancers of all ages, and requires casual attire. The fun happens in the beautiful Rivera Court, where Diego Rivera’s world-renowned mural can be enjoyed while you dance the evening away.
