1. 66th Annual Detroit Boat Show

Sail over to the 66th annual Detroit Boat Show this weekend at Huntington Place! The Detroit Boat Show is the original and biggest boat show in Michigan. Check out the brand new models for 2024, plus used boats, motors, trailers and accessories. The show will also feature fishing boats, ski boats, pontoons, cruisers, inflatables, personal watercraft, kayaks, antique boats, race boats and much more. Kicking off this weekend, the Detroit Boat Show runs through Sunday, Feb. 4 at Huntington Place.

2. Winterfest at the Belle Isle Nature Center

Bundle up for some seasonal fun on Belle Isle! Head to the island on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the return of Winterfest at the Belle Isle Nature Center, an annual celebration of all things winter. As a guest, you will have the opportunity to trek through the trails on snowshoes, make a feeder to care for birds in the winter, learn about animal adaptations and winter survival, and much more. It'll be a day full of outdoor adventures and cold-weather fun on Belle Isle!

3. Michigan's Birthday Celebration

Join Canterbury Village for Michigan's Birthday Celebration ​​​​​​to ring in the Mitten's 187th birthday this weekend! Shop at the annual winter market event and browse a large selection of unique gifts, crafts and artisan goods from the many small shops of the village, with special sales and giveaways! If all that shopping makes you hungry, then stop by one of the village eateries for a delicious treat such as smoked chicken chili or a warm spiced cider, plus drinks at the C-Pub and more!

4. BRRmingham Blast

Zip into Downtown Birmingham this weekend for the BRRmingham Blast -- a brand new event featuring free entertainment and activities for all ages! Experience the ultimate rush of zip-lining across the sky on the award-winning Fly Wire Zip Line, the longest mobile zip line in Michigan! Gather around the fires for free marshmallow roasting, and visit the Kids' Zone tent for crafts during the event. And check out a delicious variety of food trucks, which will be serving up savory favorites and sweets for purchase.

5. Oak Park Winter Fest

Experience winter family fun for everyone at Oak Park Winter Fest this weekend! Enjoy ice skating, carriage rides, a live ice carver, a reindeer pen, and activities for the kids such as face painting and crafts. If you're feeling cold, warm up with some chili, hot chocolate and s'mores. Admission, activities, parking and ice skating are all free, so don't miss the chance to have a winter blast in Oak Park!
