The 2024 Michigan State Fair is back this weekend at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi! This year, Detroit Shrine Circus returns with an incredible show across multiple tents. Fairgoers will also enjoy an amazing midway, agricultural and livestock exhibits, live entertainment, a home brew competition and all those favorite tasty carnival treats. Plus, shop Made-In-Michigan products and locally-grown produce at the Farmers Market.

Every Labor Day weekend, Romeo hosts many events based around its prized crop: the peach! The annual Romeo Peach Festival will have fun for the whole family, with tasty treats from Westview Cider Mill and other local eateries, plus craft shows, carnival rides, live music, a fireworks show and much more. The fun all culminates with the Romeo Peach Festival Hometown Parade, set for Monday afternoon.

3. Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats
One of Metro Detroit’s most-anticipated live music events is back to rock out Royal Oak this weekend. Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats offers more than 200 live performances on nine stages, a highly ranked Juried Fine Arts Show, and over 40 local restaurants with some of the finest cuisine in Metro Detroit. This year’s musical headliners include Cheap Trick, Tesla, Dustin Lynch, Gin Blossoms, Chevelle, Keith Sweat and more!
Friday, Aug. 30 - Monday, Sept. 2 in Downtown Royal Oak
For over 40 years, the Detroit Jazz Festival has celebrated the rich history of jazz music by hosting the world’s largest free jazz festival over Labor Day weekend, right here in the Motor City. This year will be no different, with a spectacular lineup of internationally renowned artists across five stages. Featuring over 50 performances as remarkable and diverse as the jazz genre itself, the Detroit Jazz Festival offers something for all music lovers.

5. Michigan Renaissance Festival
HUZZAH! Join the villagers of Hollygrove as they invite one and all to the magical Michigan Renaissance Festival featuring 17 stages of exciting entertainment including: musicians, magicians, jugglers and jousting. Over 100 artisans will fill the Festival marketplace to display and sell their handcrafted goods for a truly fabulous and endless shopping experience. Patrons will interact with memorable characters and enjoy full-contact live armored jousting, 7 theme weekends, and fabulous food fit for royalty!
