Get ready for gardening season at Royal Oak in Bloom! This annual flower and garden sale, held on Mother's Day for the past 30 years, draws residents and visitors to downtown Royal Oak to shop for flowers, plants, landscaping items, and decorative elements for their lawns. Vendors will offer everything from perennials to copper sprinklers, annuals to trees, tomato plants to wind chimes, porch swings to etched stones. Royal Oak in Bloom is a Mother's Day tradition for many Metro Detroiters!

2. Uncorked: Detroit Wine Fest
The annual Uncorked: Detroit Wine Fest pops its top once again this weekend at the Michigan Science Center! Enjoy over 100 wines and bubblies from around the globe, plus full after hours access to the museum, favorite local food trucks and more. There will be two sessions for this event. Early admission is at 7 p.m. and includes an extra hour of tasting with shorter lines plus some exclusive pours form select wineries. General admission is at 8 p.m.

3. Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour
Thomas the Tank Engine is pulling into The Henry Ford with a bubbly new spin — introducing Day Out With Thomas: The Bubble Tour! Hop aboard an interactive train ride on Thomas, say hello to Sir Topham Hatt and get poppin' with special activities in the Bubble Zone. Experience wide-eyed, memory-making moments on a springtime adventure in Greenfield Village, including storytelling, play areas, lawn games, photo ops, bubble-blowing zones, live music and more. This celebration of bubbles is not to be missed!

Art Birmingham returns for its 43rd year this Mother’s Day weekend at Shain Park in downtown Birmingham. The event will showcase jury-selected artists in an extraordinary setting, and is free to attend. Attracting approximately 80,000 fairgoers annually, this fair is produced in association with the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC), and benefits the "Art for All" vision of the BBAC.

5. Berkley Days
Gather up your family and friends and get ready to kick off the Metro Detroit summer season at Berkley Days! The Midway offers thrills, fun and excitement with rides and games for all ages. Plus, fair food is always a fan favorite, and you can indulge in elephant ears, cotton candy, corn dogs and more. The Berkley Days Festival of Races (5k/10k/1 mile) is the second longest running race in Michigan and is held on Saturday morning. Plus, check out live entertainment, a beer tent, robotics, a vendor village, and other events throughout the weekend.
