1. The Music of John Williams with the DSO

Meadow Brook Amphitheatre in Rochester Hills

The Music of John Williams with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be performed Sunday night at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. It's the music behind some of your favorite movie moments, with selections from Superman, E-T, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Star Wars and many others. Whether your a classic music enthusiast or a DSO first-timer, this is a great show for you!

2. Royal Oak Taco Fest

Thursday, July 3 - Sunday, July 6

Downtown Royal Oak

What better way to kick off the summer than with tacos, cervezas and tequila! Royal Oak Taco Fest is underway, with delicious plates from more than 50 restaurants, food trucks and other eateries. There's also an entertainment-packed schedule that includes live music, taco eating contests, stilt walkers, fire jugglers, and a Kids Zone with bounce houses, face painting and more!

3. Light Up Livernois!

Saturday, July 5
Noon - 8 p.m.
Along Livernois in Detroit

This annual event from Detroit's Independent Business Association is happening Saturday along Livernois between 6 Mile and 8 Mile Roads, featuring open studios, a runway fashion show and awe-inspiring art installations. You can also grab a bite to eat, and kick back with live music.

4. Family Day at Barcade Detroit

Sunday, July 6
Noon - 5 p.m.
666 Selden, Detroit

Bring the kids the the bar? No, really, you should! Barcade Detroit is packed with new and vintage arcade and pinball games, and it's normally restricted to people 21+. But the first Sunday of every month Barcade opens to families for the afternoon. All ages are welcome, but all kids must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Bonus: Barcade is donating 5% of Family Day token sales to Gamers Outreach, a charity that provides recreation to kids in hospitals through the power of video games and the gaming community.

5. Farmers Markets

Canton, Howell & Birmingham

Farm fresh produce season is getting underway in Michigan! There are Sunday farmers markets in Canton, Howell and Birmingham, among several other locations in Metro Detroit and more than 300 statewide! Find one with this handy map.
