(WWJ) Is it the holiday season already? It certainly seems so looking at the lengthy list of Christmassy events happening in Metro Detroit this weekend.

Here are some of our top picks for fun stuff to do in our area, brought to you by WWJ's Don't Miss List with Pat Vitale.

1. Winter at the Station
Nov. 14 – Dec 28; Monday – Sunday, 8AM-5PM
Michigan Central, Detroit

Detroit's Michigan Central is all decked out for the holidays! If you haven't been inside since the rebirth of this local landmark, now's your chance to stop in for some shopping and festive fun. Promoters say: "This year’s celebration builds on a rich legacy while beginning a new chapter as a place for community and the home of possibility. Enjoy the warm glow of festive decor and the inspiring sounds of local artists, explore hands-on activities, and discover curated local food, drinks, and gifts."

2. Royal Oak Market: Art Fair Edition
Thursday & Friday, Nov. 13-14
Royal Oak Farmers Market

How about some arts and crafts for your loved ones this holiday season? This festive event will feature 60 jury selected artists, live entertainment, food vendors, and craft beverages. Now in its 10th year, produced by The Guild of Artists and Artisans, the event will take place INDOORS at the Royal Oak Farmers Market — so you can stay cozy while you shop.

3. Canterbury Village Tree Lighting
Friday, Nov. 14 – 5-8PM (actual tree lighting at 6pm)
Canterbury Village, Lake Orion

It's an annual tradition at Metro Detroit’s ‘home for the holidays’, and admission is FREE. Canterbury Village kicks off the holiday season with the lighting of their 45-foot, music synchronized, dancing lights Christmas tree! Stores throughout the quaint village are open for holiday shopping, old fashioned carolers provide a musical atmosphere, and SANTA and the GRINCH will be there to visit with the kid kids. Outdoor fire pits will be stationed throughout the village for warmth, with hot cocoa and warm cider available for purchase.

4. Christmas Story: the Musical

Directed by Tony Award®-winner John Rando and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, this new Broadway musical is based on the classic 1983 movie Ralphie Parker wants only one thing for Christmas: An Official Red Ryder® Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle. A Christmas Story, The Musical is the hilarious account of Ralphie’s desperate quest to ensure that this most perfect of gifts ends up under his tree this Christmas. Get tickets.

5. Motor City Comic Con
Friday-Sunday, Nov. 14-16
Suburban Collection Showplace, Novi

Not ready for the holiday stuff just yet? Michigan’s largest and longest-running comic book and pop culture convention since 1989 is happening this weekend in Novi. The line up is star-studded and varied this fall, with Juliette Lewis, Linda Blair, Mike Colter (that's Luke Cage, Alan Tudyk, plus various panels and a host of comic book creators and voices behind your favorite cartoons and anime.
