REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) -- A bicyclist is dead after getting hit by a car in Redford Township.
Police said the crash happened at around at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Grand River Ave. and 7 Mile Rd.
Officers arrived to find a 64-year-old man dead on the scene.
Police said an investigation found that the man was riding a bicycle through the intersection when a driver proceeded through a green light and hit him.
The bicyclist was not using a crosswalk, police said.
The driver remained on the scene and has been cooperating with police, as the investigation continues.
The name of the man who died has not been released.
