TRENTON (WWJ) - Downriver detectives are looking into bizarre case of theft after seven in-use microwaves came up missing from a Stellantis Chrysler plant's cafeteria last month.

WWJ's Jonathon Carlson said the bizarre incident was reported to the Trenton Police Department on July 20th after security personnel at the Stellantis Chrysler Engine Plant located at 2300 Van Horn Road became aware of over half a dozen missing microwaves.

"Somebody apparently likes TV dinners or a good prank," Carlson joked, adding that seven Magic Chef Microwaves, which retail from $150 to $250, were in-use and unwrapped when they were apparently stolen.

The corporate security manager told police that all the appliances disappeared from the plant's north end cafeteria/cooling rooms.

No suspects have been identified at this time. The suspected theft remains under investigation at this time.
