
INKSTER (WWJ) Inkster Police are searching for a suspect who shot a 7-year-old boy in the chest, leaving him in critical condition.
Police said the shooting happened on Monday around 12:30 a.m. at the Dearborn View apartments on Tobin Drive, near Beech Daly and Cherry Hill.
Multiple news sources, including WXYZ-Channel 7 and WDIV-Channel 4, reported the shooting may have been a result of “reckless firearm discharge inside the home.”
When officers arrived, they found the child with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was treated at the scene and rushed to the hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.
