CHIPPEWA COUNTY (WWJ) - A Metro Detroit man is dead after troopers say he sustained fatal injuries in a snowmobile crash in the eastern Upper Peninsula on Monday.
Michigan State Police with the Sault Ste. Marie Post said via WLUC that they responded to the scene of the wreck at around 9:40 p.m. on February 19th on Trail 47 near highway M-123 in Trout Lake Township.
Authorities said a snowmobile driver involved in the crash, identified as a 72-year-old resident of Walled Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name was not released. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unknown at this time.
The incident remains under investigation at this time. Authorities did not released any additional details.
