80-year-old man killed in freeway shooting on I-75 near Saginaw

SAGINAW (WWJ) A freeway shooting on I-75 near Saginaw has killed an 80-year-old Bay City man, according to Michigan State Police.

State Police (Tri-City Post) said an unknown suspect shot the victim while he was driving in the northbound lanes of I-75 near Holland Rd. around 4:45 Friday morning.


He was later pronounced dead.

"This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the public," State Police said in a statement on the MSP Third District "X" page.

There is no word on a motive for the shooting. The victim's name has not been released.
