COMMERCE (WWJ) The Great Harvest Bread Co., based in Commerce, is recalling nine bread varieties over undeclared allergens including eggs, milk or wheat.

The following bread varieties were distributed to The Village Butcher Shoppe in Milford; Zerbo’s Market in Commerce Township; and the Milford and Walled Lake farmers markets.

The recalled brands include:

Cinnamon Swirl
Cinnamon Chip
Golden Cheddar Garlic
Dakota Seed
Oregon Herb
Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
Sandwich Rye
Santa Fe Jalapeno Cheese
Challah

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to the allergens risk a life-threatening reaction if they consume them. One allergic reaction to the Cinnamon Swirl bread was reported.

The recall was initiated after the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) found the products did not label the allergens. Another investigation found it was due to an error in label production.

If you have bought these breads, you should return them to the Great Harvest Bread Co. of Commerce, located at 3376 E. West Maple Rd, Commerce, MI 48390, for a full refund.
