OAKLAND TWP. (WWJ) -- A 90-year-old Rochester Hills man was killed Sunday morning when two pickup trucks crashed head-on in northern Oakland County.
Just before 9:30 a.m., the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said William Frederick Stanley Jr. was driving his GMC Sierra southbound on Rochester Rd., near Lonesome Oak Dr., when he crossed the centerline and crashed into a northbound Dodge Ram.
Stanley was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff's office said it was not immediately known whether he was wearing his seatbelt.
Officials said the Ram driver, a 44-year-old Oakland Township man, was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.
The sheriff's office noted that the road was "extremely icy" at the time of the crash, and said that drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor.
An investigation by the OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit is ongoing.
