DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating a shots fired call on a local freeway Wednesday night.

According to officials with the MSP Second District, troopers responded to southbound Lodge near Linwood at around 7:10 p.m. on April 16 after a driver called 9-1-1 to report that his car was shot at.

The driver told police on scene that he saw the driver of a black Dodge Nitro driving recklessly. When the suspect tried to pass the caller, the caller reported when the front seat passenger pulled out a gun and fired one shot at his car.

Investigators said the caller's car did not have any damage or bullet holes, and there were no injuries reported.

The freeway was closed to look for shell casings, but investigators didn't find any evidence.

MSO said the investigation is ongoing.
