WAYNE COUNTY (WWJ) – A 25 year-old woman is dead after a crash on southbound I-275 near W Huron River Dr.
Michigan State Police troopers responded to the freeway Monday, April 21, after several 911 callers reported a crash around 7:10 p.m.
When troopers got to the scene, they found a Jeep Cherokee with massive front end damage in the center median.
Investigators say the driver was in the right lane when she lost control of her car and crossed every lane, before crashing into the center median. The driver was ejected from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is underway to figure out why the woman lost control of her car. Police are waiting for a medical report.
MSP’s First Lieutenant Mike Shaw said “This crash does serve as a reminder of how important it is to wear your seatbelt.”
