Police searching for suspect who spit on, threatened victim with pocket knife after bumping into each other on Ann Arbor sidewalk

Investigators in Ann Arbor are searching for a suspect accused of threatening a man with a knife near the University of Michigan's campus

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Investigators in Ann Arbor are searching for a suspect accused of pushing, spitting on and threatening a man with a knife near the University of Michigan's campus on Wednesday.

The University of Michigan Department of Public Safety and Security (UMDPSS) said the incident began after two men bumped into each other while walking on a sidewalk between North Ingalls and East Ann streets just after 4 p.m. on March 27.

The run-in appeared to anger the suspect, who then followed the victim before shoving him, spitting on him and pulling out a pocket knife

The victim managed to get away and the incident was reported.

UMDPSS officials are now searching for the suspect, who was described as 6' tall Black man around 20-years-old. He has a thin build and has short, curly hair.

He was wearing a dark navy or black jacket.
