Hail to the victors! Ann Arbor earns top spot as America's best place to live in 2023

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - It's another huge win and a new title for this Michigan college town — and it doesn't have to do with football.

Ann Arbor was just named the best place to live in America in 2023 by StudyFinds.org, beating out other cities in North Carolina, Colorado, Arkansas and Alabama.

The newest honor comes from Study Find's top-five list that looked into multiple expert lists from websites like Money, Livability and Moving Waldo. The site said they complied their list with cities that appeared frequently at the top of the reviews.

"Home to a vibrant culinary scene, growing technology industry, and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is a city with a lot to offer," Study Find stated.

"Dismissing Ann Arbor as just another college town would do this southeast Michigan city — often called 'Tree Town' — a huge disservice," said Money.

Money ranked Ann Arbor No. 8 on its list.

"Well-designed trail systems, a passion for the arts, worldly restaurants, plus friendly, smart residents who are civically engaged are also among the reasons Ann Arbor is one of the best cities to live in the U.S," wrote Livability.com, where the city ranked No. 2 in its top 100 list.

"Ann Arbor is a mix of the rural and urban, sporty and smart, outdoorsy and high-tech city. This city is one of the best cities to live in the United States, with its historic streets lined with bookstores, gift shops, and taverns," wrote MovingWaldo.com. "Ann Arbor boasts excellent public schools, an increasingly diverse job market, a culturally diverse community, a robust public park system and low crime rates."

The popular Michigan college town appeared at the No. 2 spot on Moving Waldo's best places to live rankings.

The other cities appearing on Study Find's ranking of Best Places To Live in America in 2023 are: Raleigh, North Carolina (2), Huntsville, Alabama (3), Fayetteville, Arkansas (4) and Colorado Springs, Colorado (5).
