Ann Arbor man dies after crash in Clinton Township, at fault driver found short time later

(WWJ) A chain reaction crash in Clinton Township Monday night leaves an Ann Arbor man dead.

The victim, 27, was driving a Mustang and stopped behind a Ford Transit Connect van at a traffic light at a turnaround on Metro Parkway, east of Groesbeck Hwy.  A Ram ProMaster crashed into the back of the Mustang just after 8 p.m and pushed the Mustang into the back of the Transit Connect van, according to Clinton Township police.

The driver of the Mustang was taken to McLaren Hospital but died a short time later.

The driver of the ProMaster left the scene before officers arrived, but was located a short time later. The driver and a passenger were taken to McLaren Hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators say it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
