ANN ARBOR (WWJ) — Two teenagers are in custody after Ann Arbor police caught them with a 3D printed gun during a traffic stop.
It happened during the night shift last weekend as officers pulled the teens' car over on N. Maple Road near Dexter Avenue, a couple miles west of the University of Michigan campus.
During the traffic stop, officers found a 3D printed handgun that had no serial number.
The 18-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger were both taken into custody and have both been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a five-year felony.
Neither teen's name was released.
"Great work by our officers getting this ILLEGAL firearm off the street," the Ann Arbor Police Department said in a post on X.
Officials did not say what prompted the traffic stop that led to the discovery of the gun.
