WINDSOR (WWJ) Windsor Police are launching an arson investigation into a fire at an apartment building that killed a woman in her seventies.
Police said the flames broke out at a first-floor apartment on Sandwich Street, by the Ambassador Bridge, on Monday, December 30th around 7 a.m.
Officers responded first, then Windsor Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the flames.
First responders rushed the 71-year-old woman to the hospital where she later died.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
