MONROE COUNTY (WWJ) -- An attempted car heist was busted at a Monroe County used car dealership on Christmas morning, resulting in the arrest of six people.
The situation happened around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Monroe Superstore Auto Dealership along South Dixie Highway.

Michigan State Police arrived at the scene after receiving calls about an attempted break-in. When they arrived, troopers saw a vehicle that had been left with the driver’s side door open.
As they examined the vehicle, investigators then reportedly witnessed two male teenagers trying to steal used cars from the lot.
One suspect was stopped immediately, while the other crashed into another car as he attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle. He then took off on foot and was pursued by authorities.
As troopers were dealing with the two suspects, a third male juvenile also fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Additional assistance was requested from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, and a search was performed on the area for additional suspects.
A total of six people were eventually arrested in connection with the attempted robbery -- three juvenile males and three adult females -- after being discovered near the scene.
The three juvenile male suspects who were apprehended are currently being housed at the Monroe County Youth Center.
Meanwhile, the three female suspects who were arrested were taken to the Monroe County Jail.
