AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) -- Reports of a gunman at the Auburn Hills Meijer turned out to be a false alarm, according to police.
Auburn Hills Police said officers were already at the Brown Road store investigating a separate assault when they received a report of someone with a gun in the sporting goods section.
Store management quickly evacuated the store, while officers swept the area.
After searching the store and reviewing security video, police said officers confirmed that there was no threat.
Police did not release any details about the assault that initially brought them to the scene.
The store is open for business.
