CANTON TWP. (WWJ) -- A 1-year-old girl was shot and rushed a hospital after a drive-by shooting in Canton Township, early Thursday morning.
The child's grandfather told WWJ Newsradio 950 that five gunmen fired around 50 rounds into a home at the Manufactured Homes Academy mobile home park, off Old Michigan Ave., near I-275.
Three people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, including the baby girl who was wounded.
She remains hospitalized. There is no update on her condition at this time.
Neighbors said they heard the shots, and bullet holes were seen on the sides of the mobile home.
Canton Township Police said the suspects were on the run, later in the morning.
Police said this was believed to be a targeted shooting, although there's no information about a motive.
There are also no details about the suspects at this time.
