(WWJ) Two masked suspects shot and killed a father in front of his two sons in their own home near Bad Axe.
The Huron County Sheriff's Department said the children, 11 and 20, called 911 around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, saying their father had been shot twice.
His sons told investigators the suspects had broken into the home and opened fire while yelling something about money.
The younger son tried to hide in the bathroom, but one of the suspects kicked down the door and moved him to another room. He told the boy to lay on the floor.
The older son hid in another room. After the men left, the sons called police. Their father, 59, was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators said the masked suspects were wearing all black. They remain on the run.
