(WWJ) -- Nothing says "Pure Michigan summer" like a sunny day and a cold Oberon in your hand.

Michiganders will soon be able to enjoy that tradition, but with a little twist.

Bell's is rolling out the new Tropical Oberon, a variation of the popular wheat ale that's brewed with real passionfruit, pink guava and mango. The new summertime brew began shipping to bars, liquor stores and distributors this week.

This new variation "takes the sun into the tropics with pastel blues, pinks and greens." It will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce bottles.

Bell's says "we're taking you to new shores under the Oberon with two, new ways to enjoy the color and scent of a summer afternoon."

The Kalamazoo-based brewer has also started shipping limited edition Oberon packaging.

It's not the first time they've put a twist on Oberon, though, as Mango Oberon was released in 2020. Other past variations have included mango habanero, pineapple jalapeno, guava, raspberry and cucumber basil.

You can go to Bell's Beer Finder to see where you can find the new Tropical Oberon near you.

Those who prefer the traditional Oberon packaging will still have that option this summer and fresh batches of Oberon will continue to ship until later this summer. All will join this year's brand-new mini keg, part of a series of Mini kegs for Causes "designed to help support organizations that are near and dear to the brewery, on store shelves."
